As an anatomic pathologist, I’ve always been captivated by the elegance of human tissue architecture — how every cell contributes to the astonishing order and beauty within our organs. I often found myself asking how a single fertilized egg can give rise to something so intricate and perfectly organized. During my clinical training, I also came to see the limits of medicine — situations where even the most precise diagnosis could not offer a true cure, especially when chronic organ damage had already set in.
These experiences gradually shaped my scientific path. My curiosity evolved into a mission to understand how human endocrine and reproductive organs are built in our body — and to harness that knowledge to recreate them in a dish, so we can one day restore organ function when it is lost.
Outside the lab, I’m an avid reader, traveler, and fitness enthusiast. I also love symphonic music — the Philadelphia Orchestra is one of my favorite weekend escapes.

Hi, I’m Ming!
I received my Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Tongji University, where I conducted research under the supervision of Dr. Shaorong Gao. My work focused on zygotic genome activation and the reprogramming of naïve pluripotency. Following that, I completed my first postdoctoral training under the guidance of Dr. José C.R. Silva at the Guangzhou National Laboratory. In the Sasaki Lab, my research interests center on the reconstitution of human germ cells from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Outside the lab, I enjoy traveling and spending time shopping with my family.

Hi, I'm a registered dietitian with a background in nutrition and food science from Fuji University. I've worked in hospital and clinical settings, supporting patients with everything from diabetes education to nutrition support as part of a medical team. Currently, I’m working as a technician in the bioscience field, which has allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge in a different but equally rewarding area of healthcare.
Outside of work, I love watching my child play ice hockey, cooking meals at home, and listening to music. These activities help me stay happy and grounded in daily life.
